The following list of DMV transactions require a VIN verification to be completed:

1. Registration of a vehicle last registered out of state

2. Re-registration of a vehicle that was previously “junked” or “salvaged”

3. Registration of desert toys or trailer

4. Registration of a vehicle that has not previously been registered

5. Registration of a vehicle that does not have a VIN number

6. Registration of a vehicle that the VIN number on does not match what is on file

If a person has repaired, furnished supplies/materials for, or towed or stored a vehicle and has not been paid for the services rendered, that person has a lien against the vehicle.
